Childbirth Classes

< Why Childbirth Education Classes?
Childbirth is a life-changing experience. The information you learn through the classes, discussion, and reading will help you to make vital decisions for a healthy and empowering pregnancy, birth, and parenting experience.

My series of classes is a comprehensive childbirth education to help women and couples feel prepared for pregnancy, childbirth, and parenthood. As a newer educator, my classes offer the most up-to-date, researched-based information from a variety of leaders in the childbirth world.

What is covered?
Topics include prenatal nutrition, exercise, anatomy of pregnancy, stages of labor, relaxation techniques, positions for labor, normal variations and complications during labor and even postpartum, the basics of breastfeeding & newborn care! We'll discuss informed decision making so you will feel confident in your choices.

When?
My classes are presented over 10 weeks (a 2.5 hour class each week). It's a LOT of amazing information!

I am now taking registration for those with FALL/WINTER due dates. Classes will be held on TUESDAY nights from 6:30-9pm starting July 7th, ending Sept 8th  (10 weeks total).  This class session will be held in Bountiful.

If you are interested in taking classes, but that time/day doesn't work for you, please contact me (below) to see if I can help you out or point you in the right direction.

Where?
Currently, classes are held in Bountiful, just minutes north of downtown Salt Lake, very convenient to I-15.

By teaching in a more "neutral" environment (not a hospital, doctor's office, etc.) I am able to give non-biased information so you can make the best decisions for your situation.

One-on-one classes (I can come to you, on your schedule) are available through special arrangements (for an additional fee).

How much?
To reserve your space in class, a $50 deposit is required with registration. The remaining balance ($225) is due by the third week of class, unless other arrangements have been made. The class fee includes 24 hours of comprehensive birth education (for the expecting mother and her birth support person) and materials (a workbook, handouts, snacks, etc.). I keep my class sizes small (no more than 8 couples) so everyone can participate and get the individual attention they deserve.

I believe that every woman deserves to be informed about her pregnancy and childbirth so she can make the best decisions for her situation. If you would like to take my classes but are financially unable, please contact me. I am willing to trade/barter to make the opportunity available for anyone who would like it.

Policies (the fine print)
  •  I am a childbirth educator, not a medical professional.  Please remember that the information shared in class is given to you so that you can weigh your options, do your own research, and make the best decision for your family based on your situation. You are ultimately responsible for your decisions.
  • Refunds: The $50 deposit is non-refundable after the first class (since it is too late for your space to be filled). The remaining class fee ($225) is non-refundable except for a medical emergency that would prevent you from attending (i.e. the premature delivery of your baby, miscarriage, etc.) at which point a prorated refund will be given.
  • At this point, I am an "independent childbirth educator," which means that I am not advertising a specific "brand" of childbirth education, but offering a well-rounded class that is geared towards natural childbirth. I work closely with other childbirth professionals in the area to make sure my classes are competitive and the best education I can offer. For this upcoming series, I will be teaching from and giving students the Plumtree Baby workbooks, as I feel it is one of the most comprehensive products on the market at the moment.
